[Advice]Best Antivirus ?
Now days antiviruses offer very strong/strict protection against viruses , usually the paid ones. There are also some free ones that offer a really good protection as well.
Everyone asked themselves or still asking , which Antivirus(AV) software is the best ?
Well , this is a very difficult question to answer...
Let's just assume this:
Antivirus companies are just updating their databases with strings(every virus/malicious program has an unique string , so when the AV scans for viruses , it is scanning for strings and if a string is matched with one of the strings of the AV database then we got an alert about infected file/virus )from newly made/coded viruses whilst you read this. Some antivirus companies may be informed/check faster about the newly made virus than others(and vice versa) so they will update their database so their AV product will have a bigger/richer detecting rate(for a while or longer than the others, mainly this determines which av company is better...the faster-the better) than the others.
So , it's like a race...eg. today(or even hourly) Kaspersky Antivirus may be the best with the biggest detection rate , but tomorrow Norton Antivirus may have the biggest detection rate , the day after tomorrow may be the same or another AV software may surpass them both.
Also , i have to say not only the detection rate plays a role while deciding which AV is the best , but also the speed(how much slows down our computer) , removal manner (fast-slow,efficient-inefficient,safe-risky) , false-positive detection rate(sometimes antiviruses can give us a false infection alert of a certain file which in fact isn't virus/infected) etc..
Finally... in my experience i would recommend Kaspersky(from the paid ones). There are some complains about slowing down our computer over average , but believe me it's doing it's job.Best is to try it like a trial version by yourselves than listening to everyone's complains !
As for the free ones i would recommend Avira Free Antivirus.
Extra: You can combine any of your antiviruses with malwarebytes(I would call it mini super antivirus) for some extra security. Use the main AV as a real-time scanner(protection while you work) and malwarebytes for full system scans(when you want to check your computer from viruses).
So, hope this post helped you.
Good Luck ! : )
